On Saturday 7 November the new term of the Diocesan Synod will begin with a full day meeting in Bursledon, Southampton. In addition to some general business, Bishop Tim will address the new Synod as it begins a new term. The agenda includes a consultation paper entitled 'Mission and the whole people of God' which explores ways in which the Diocese of Winchester might re-imagine ministry for the future. It offers four general theological principles and four key themes for the way ahead, followed by specific proposals. Other agenda items include an introduction to next year's Lent Course, an update from our links with Myanmar and a review of funding our common mission through the Parish Share - celebrating the good progress so far in 2015, and the positive response for 2016.
At our own Deanery Synod Meeting on 18 November at St Paul's Winchester we will invite our Diocesan Synod Members to give an overview of the meeting. The Diocesan Synod Representatives for the Winchester Deanery are: Jonathan Bright, Jude Greenfield, Steve Leach, Wendy Jones, Rev Brian Wakelin, Alison Coulter, Rev Angie Smith, John Spens, Rev Karen Kousseff, Rev Paul Kennedy, Rev Tim Gleghorn and Rev Jonah Watts Comments are closed.
